Richard, you always have such interesting articles about possible futures.

Two thoughts popped into my mind while reading this. One was that not everything important can be measure and not everything measured is important.

The other was remembering Wang pivoting in the 70's and 80's. They were known for incredible calculating machines, until handheld calculators replaced them, but then they pivoted into the best Word Processing hardware/software, until personal computers became ubiquitous. I guess a company can only pivot so many times.
